Ice helps to reduce inflammation and pain, BEFORE it happens. Use ice as an injury prevention by applying to areas that tend to get annoyed ie; knees, ankles or your back after you go for a run. For me, if I come in from skiing or biking and my knee is achy, I immediately rest and apply ice.
- Elevate injured area and apply ice for 20 minutes. Allow area to rest for about 20 minutes and reapply as necessary.
