While sugar is not good for your insides, I can vouch that it definitely good for your outsides! There are some people who will say not to use sugar on your skin as it is too coarse, however I would beg to differ. I do not use coarse sugar in scrubs that I am going to use on my face and recommend that you only use fine sugar. You can actually make a body scrub using coarse sugar and I will be sharing that recipe in another post.
1/2 cup organic granulated brown sugar; If too coarse you can reduce sugar to 1/4 cup. Sample on your inner wrist the first time you use it. You don't want it to hurt or to irritate your skin.
1/2 organic coconut oil
Optional: I don't use any scent, but some people want a fragrance
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract or
3/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice or
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon or
essential oils of your choice
Combine ingredients in a bowl. Mix by hand or with a mixer well. DO NOT HEAT as sugar will melt.
You should only need to use about 1 tablespoon. You can use it in shower or at the sink.
Massage in a circular motion for 30 seconds or until sugar "melts". Rinse and pat dry. This can be used everyday. An additional benefit of this recipe is you have a built in moisturizer with the coconut oil.
Store in an airtight container.
I use the GoTubb
Will last 2 months stored at room temperature. Please let me know how it worked for you! Share some pictures!
