In addition to the above list, lemons are also:
- Rich in potassium, folate, Vitamin B6, thiamin, magnesium, calcium, phosphorous and vitamins A and E.
- One lemon contains more than the recommended daily allowance of Vitamin C.
- One glass a day is one of the quickest and easiest ways to boost your immune system. It helps to neutralize free radicals associated with aging and disease and it’s also excellent for the skin.
- Lemon is also a natural energizer. It hydrates and oxygenates the body, leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalized.
The challenge is figuring out how to ingest them. Lemons are not exactly the sweetest of fruits and are rather tart.
The answer is both surprisingly simple and very refreshing.
Warm water and lemon. For some reason the warm water helps to dilute the tartness.
My recipe: 1 8 oz glass of warm water
1/4 slice of whole organic lemon
Squeeze the lemon into the water. I add the rind and leave it in the water. Drink in the morning upon waking up if you can.
